This morning I was having a discussion with my class about the wonderful 5th grade book "There's a boy in the girls bathroom" and the secretary came into my class. She called me over to the door and said I need to go to the office because they thought Kaylee had broken her arm. I ran down there and she was sitting in the chair. Once she saw me the tears started up even harder then they already were! She was holding her arm and told me she fell off the monkey bars. I ran her to the doctors and they were wonderful and got her right back and within 20 minutes they had X-rays, and the doctor was in with us. She has a buckle fracture right above her wrist. The doctor said it was a "pretty good one". Kaylee was so brave, they put it in a splint and once the swelling goes down we are going back to get a "red" cast!
Katie, Mat, Ben and Sam came to visit Kaylee and brought her some ice cream and a book! Katie helped me bathe Kaylee to make sure we didn't get her arm wet. Then she got cozy on the chair and is waiting for me to read her new book to her.
As long as we keep on top of the pain, she stays in a pretty good mood!
